Pencelli Castle Caravan and Camping Park is a stunning five-star multi-award-winning campsite located at the base of the Brecon Beacons, within easy walking distance of the highest peaks. A castle once stood on the grounds of this handily located site, which now brims with colourful bursts of bloom, creating the perfect, peaceful settings for a relaxing escape. Guests can enjoy a range of open-air pursuits ranging from walking and cycling to pony trekking and bird watching. The tranquil, scenic surrounds belie the turbulent history of these parts, where many bloody battles took place until the 1300s. The castle that remained was slowly taken apart and used for local building material: however, remains of a grand castle are visible all over the site, like the house which was part of a chapel till the late 1500s and crumbling old walls. Kick back on hardstanding or serviced pitches and sip on a cold beverage of choice as you dreamily gaze at the manicured gardens sprinkled with vintage farm machinery and a spacious children’s play area. The rolling green hills around offer respite from the elements and provide idyllic settings for the ultimate escape from modern life. Communal amenities include a luxurious shower block, a drying room, and a shop on-site. The village pub is just a hundred yards away. Only assistance dogs permitted.
