Get ready for extensive views, convenient access for walks, and immaculate pitches and facilities at the Duke Of York pub site. Walkers and hikers will find themselves in their element here, with heaps of local hiking routes, and long-distance trails nearby. The campsite offers guests a selection of tent, touring, motorhome, and campervan pitches, each with spectacular views over the valley below. Campers can visit the snug pub, dining room, and dog –friendly bar steps away from the pitches, and indulge in excellent food and beer when cooking in loses its appeal. You’re six miles outside Buxton, seven from Bakewell, and fifteen miles from the town of Ashbourne, with direct access to the A515 which is right opposite the pub and restaurant. Head into Buxton and enjoy a pint at the dog-friendly Ale Stop, or delight in a meal consisting of delicious home-made chips at the on-site pub. If that isn’t enough to grab your attention, consider the wealth of attractions to discover in the Peak District National Park. Hardy hikers can tackle the forty-six-mile Limestone Way which runs through the Peak District or the two-hundred-and-thirty mile Midshires Way path. The Tissington Trail and the High Peak path are easier hiking routes set thirteen and seventeen miles respectively from the pub. Cycling enthusiasts can hire bikes and get repairs done in the hamlet of Parsley Hay which is roughly four miles from the site. Enjoy a beautiful ride with towering limestone for company, or forge ahead on the three-hundred-and-twenty-seven mile Pennine Cycleway. On-site amenities include toilets, hot showers, a washing up area, chemical disposal, drinking water. The site is disabled-friendly and welcomes dogs.
