The resort is also close to the towns of Penally, and the campsites of Pembroke, Saundersfoot and Narberth, each boasting unique attractions, from the majestic Pembroke Castle to the serene Saundersfoot Harbor and the artisanal delights of Narberth's independent shops. Around 2 million people visit Tenby each year, with over half the visitors travelling in from England. Following a tumultuous few years of lockdowns, adventurers are rearing to explore the seaside, and campervanning is one way to get in your dose of adventure while enjoying a cost effective means of travel. Tenby is one of the most easily accessed parts of Wales, and there are eight trains on the weekend from England and East Wales to Tenby, while places like Saundersfoot, just three miles away, does not share the same access by train.

Today the town is famed for its golden beaches and famed Welsh hospitality, however, the area has not always had such a rosy past. Explore the settlement’s illustrious history, ranging from pirates to plagues, and admire its mediveal walls (dating back to the 13th century) which make Tenby a hotspot for holidays. Snap pictures of Tenby’s north side, which includes the lovely beach, the traditional harbour and the lovely castle hill in the backdrop. Explore landmarks like St. Catherine's Island and Tenby Castle, or join in local events like the Tenby Boxing Day Swim and the Tenby Arts Festival, and get a real taste of local heritage.

Whether you plan on sunbathing, sailing, snoozing or scarfing down ice cream with the nippers, there’s plenty to keep you occupied and entertained in Tenby, so yes, it's certainly worth a visit. Admire the spectacular vistas of fishing boats bobbing in a peaceful harbour and explore the Pembrokeshire coastline in which the town rests, which is the only coastal national park in Britain. The town became a popular tourist resort in the 18th and 19th centuries, and continues to draw in holidaymakers in search of sun, sea and sand. There are three fantastic beaches, and one of these, Castle Beach, nabbed the title of best beach in Britain in 2019 by The Times. Take a guided tour through the narrow town streets, or hop over to a local brewery and spend the day on a tasting tour.

Soak in the views from a different angle and spot seals on a boat trip via the Tenby Boat Trips, or make your way to Caldey Island, a holy isle inhabited by Cistercian monks. Boats depart to Caldey Island, every 20-30 minutes, and tickets to the island can be purchased at Tenby Harbour. The Tenby Coaster is another fab means of soaking in the local scenery between Tenby and Saundersfoot, allowing guests the freedom to hop on along the way throughout the week.
